WorkBuddy — Privacy Policy
What we collect
Nothing. WorkBuddy does not collect, transmit, sell, or share any personal information. There are no accounts, no servers, and no analytics or tracking.
Where your data lives
All of your data — tasks, reminders, water/exercise/food logs, mood entries, voice notes, settings, and preferences — is stored locally in your browser (IndexedDB and extension local storage) on your own device. It never leaves your machine unless you explicitly export it to a file yourself.
Permissions and why they are used
- alarms — to schedule periodic health and break reminders so they fire on time, even when the side panel is closed.
- notifications — to show a reminder as a desktop notification.
- storage — to save your reminder timing and lightweight app state locally.
- sidePanel — to display the WorkBuddy app in the browser side panel.
Optional network features
Some optional features fetch data directly from third-party services only when you enable them, and only to provide that feature:
- Weather suggestions — approximate location is sent to Open-Meteo to fetch local weather.
- Prayer times — your chosen city/country (or device location) is sent to the Aladhan API to calculate prayer times.
No personal data is stored by us or sent to us in either case.
Your control
You can export all your data to a JSON file, import it back, or clear it at any time from the app's Settings.
